Don’t get too caught up in caliber debates online. For most folks, a handgun that’s comfortable to shoot, feels good in the hands, and easy to control is more important than trying to squeeze a little more performance out of a large caliber. That’s one of the reasons the 9mm round has always been so popular. It’s affordable, easy to find, and works well for range shooting and personal defense.
Generally speaking, more rounds are usually better, as long as the gun is comfortable enough that you’ll actually carry it. If you’re looking for a great middleground, we generally recommend the Sig Sauer P365 X-Macro. It’s small enough for everyday carry for most folks, but holds up to 17+1 rounds. We help people choose a concealed carry handgun that is right for them every day – Call us today and we’ll get you set up! 706.745.3131

From there, you’ll complete the paperwork and background check before taking the handgun home. It’s super simple! At Alexander’s, we’re happy to help customers understand the transfer process and answer any questions before placing an order. Due to magazine capacity limitations in your state, we may not be able to ship every firearm as it’s packaged.
It just depends on your gun, and how often you use it. If you’ve just spent a day at the range, it’s a good idea to clean it when you get home. If it’s a handgun that stays in the safe most of the time, periodic inspection and maintenance are usually enough. A clean handgun that’s been maintained is a reliable handgun when you need it to be!

One of the biggest mistakes people make is buying a handgun because of something they read on reddit, without talking to an expert about their specific needs. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, and that’s okay. That’s why we’re here!
