This is a 2011-style pistol, meaning it uses the classic 1911 platform DNA, including a hammer-fired action, single-action trigger, and that iconic grip angle, but with a double-stack polymer grip module that gets you to 20+1 capacity in 9mm. That is a serious upgrade over a traditional 1911 without giving up any of the things that make a 1911 worth shooting.
The 3.5" barrel makes this the compact entry in the Romulus family, and the threaded muzzle opens the door to suppressors or a comp down the road. The barrel itself is a button-rifled 416R stainless steel unit with a 1:10 right-hand twist and six-groove rifling. The frame and slide are both SUS416 stainless steel finished in a polished DLC black coating that not only looks excellent but makes the action noticeably slick. The RMSC slide cut gives you direct, plate-free mounting for micro footprint optics like the Holosun 407K, 507K, Sig Romeo Zero, and Shield RMSc. Night Fision sights handle low-light work, the thumb safety is ambidextrous, and there is a Picatinny rail up front for lights and lasers.

It is worth noting that the standard RMSC cut is not compatible with full-size RMR footprint optics. If you want to run a Trijicon RMR or similar, you would need to look at the MOS Adapter version of the Romulus instead.
The Romulus uses a 2011-style double-stack magazine pattern, and many owners report success using STI and Staccato-pattern magazines alongside the included MBX-style factory mags. That said, like most 2011-platform pistols, there can be some variance between magazine brands, so it is worth testing any third-party mags thoroughly before relying on them. The 4.25" Commander and 5" full-size versions offer a slightly longer sight radius and a bit more velocity, but all three share the same core feature set including the DLC-finished stainless construction, ambidextrous controls, night sights, and optic-ready slide. The compact length trades a small amount of ballistic performance for a handier package overall.
Holster fit for the Romulus takes a little homework since it is not as universally molded for as Glock or Staccato platforms. Some owners have success with Staccato CS or Commander-length 2011 holster patterns with minor fitting, but it is not guaranteed across all brands. Your best bet is to look for holster makers who specifically confirm compatibility with the Alpha Foxtrot Romulus or who build from a Romulus mold directly.
