The TruGlo Fiber-Optic Pro set fixes that with a glowing red fiber up front that your eye snaps to right away, backed by a plain black rear that lets the front dot pop instead of fighting three white dots for your attention. It's the same setup a lot of competition and range folks run because it keeps things simple and fast.
The front sight uses a bright red fiber-optic pipe with a patented light reflector that pulls in ambient light from all angles and channels it into the fiber. That means a brighter dot than a plain fiber pipe would give you, and it works well across changing light on the range or outdoors. Both the front and rear sight faces are serrated to cut down on glare, so you're not squinting through a shiny reflection when the sun's out.
These are CNC-machined from steel and treated with TruGlo's nitride Fortress finish, so they shrug off holster wear and stand up to cleaning solvents better than the polymer sights that ship on a lot of pistols. The square-style rear gives you a clean notch for a crisp sight picture, and the whole set is sized to clear standard holsters without hanging up.
This set fits the Smith & Wesson M&P series including the Shield, M2.0, and .22 models, plus SD9 and SD40. It does not fit the .22 Compact, EZ series, C.O.R.E. models, or the SD VE variants, so double-check your exact model before ordering. The dovetails on these run tight, which is a good thing for retention but does mean a sight pusher makes life a lot easier. If you're not comfortable drifting sights yourself, a gunsmith can knock the install out in a few minutes.

No, the Fiber-Optic Pro set is fiber-optic only, not tritium. The front fiber collects ambient light and glows brightly in daylight and lit conditions, but it won't self-illuminate in total darkness. If you want a dot that glows with no light source, look at TruGlo's TFX or Tritium Pro lines instead.
The rear sight drifts into the dovetail and the front is secured with a screw, so it's a straightforward job with the right tools. The dovetails on these run tight, which helps retention but usually calls for a sight pusher rather than finger pressure. If you don't have a pusher or aren't comfortable drifting sights, a gunsmith can handle it quickly.
A plain black rear lets your eye lock onto the bright front fiber without competing dots pulling your focus. This setup is popular with competition and range shooters because it speeds up target acquisition and gives a cleaner sight picture. The serrated face also cuts glare so the notch stays crisp in bright light.
