The Hi-Viz LiteWave HRB2007 is one of those upgrades that makes you wonder why you waited so long. It replaces the plain black or hook-style factory front sight on your Ruger with a bright fiber optic that gathers light from every angle, giving you a crisp aiming point whether you're shooting in bright sun or fading evening light. It's a factory-height sight, so it lines right up with your existing rear sight and keeps your point of aim where it should be.
The heart of this design is the diagonal-wave exoskeleton machined from a single piece of steel. That skeletonized frame does double duty, protecting the fiber optic LitePipe from knocks and drops while leaving plenty of surface exposed so it can soak up light. The LitePipe measures 0.090 inches in diameter with a 0.125 blade width, and an internal locking system built into the steel base keeps everything held tight through recoil. This is a front-only sight, meaning it upgrades your front post and pairs with your factory rear.
This one fits Ruger Mark I, II, III, and IV steel bull barrel pistols, along with the 22/45 with an adjustable rear sight. Worth noting it does not fit the 22/45 LITE. It also works on Ruger Single-Six revolvers with adjustable rear sights and Browning Buck Mark pistols, with the exception of the Challenge, 5.5 Target, and 5.5 Field models. The kit ships with green, red, and white LitePipes so you can match your sight color to your background. Folks tend to reach for green most often since it stands out even against grass and trees, but having red and white on hand gives you options.
Installation is straightforward and usually takes just a small Allen wrench and a few minutes. A lot of owners add a dab of blue thread locker to keep the screw put. Changing LitePipes is quick too, using the included key that also stores the spare pipes. It's an easy win for anyone whose eyes appreciate a little extra help finding the front sight fast.
