Even the best optic can fail at the worst possible moment, and that's exactly why the UTG Accu-Sync rear sight earns its spot on your rail. This spring-loaded flip-up rear sight from Leapers gives your AR-15 a reliable set of iron backups that fold down out of the way when you're running an optic and snap right back up when you need them. It's a low-profile, lightweight piece that plays nice with just about any build.
The heart of this sight is the spring-loaded Posi-lock push button. Give it a press and the sight tower automatically deploys, then locks upright so it won't collapse on you mid-string. The rear features dual apertures, so you've got a smaller opening for precise long-range work and a larger one for close-in or moving targets and low-light conditions. Windage adjusts tool-free with a knob, which makes zeroing on the range about as painless as it gets.
Leapers machined this one from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum and steel, finished in a matte black anodize that cuts glare and shrugs off wear. The low-profile mounting base uses a single locking Torx screw along with square integral recoil stops, so it grabs your MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail hard and returns to zero even after you pull it and remount it. Torque the locking plate to around 35 in-lbs and it isn't going anywhere.
This rear sight is designed to run alongside the UTG Accu-Sync flip-up front sight (MNT-757). Together they sit on the same level plane, which keeps your sight picture clean and your accuracy honest whether you're using them as primary irons or true backups. At just 1.4 ounces and a stowed height around two-thirds of an inch, it adds almost nothing to your setup while giving you real peace of mind on hunts, at the range, or in a training class.
It mounts to any standard MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, so it works on the vast majority of AR-15, M4, and M16 platforms. Keep in mind it's built for Picatinny and will not clamp onto a Weaver rail. For a matched sight picture, pair it with same-height flat-top uppers and rails.
You can run it either way. Plenty of folks use it as a dedicated set of backup irons behind a red dot or scope, but it holds zero well enough to serve as primary irons too. The dual apertures give you flexibility for both close and longer-range shooting.
For a complete iron sight setup you'll want a front sight to go with it. The Accu-Sync rear is designed to match the UTG Accu-Sync flip-up front sight (MNT-757) on the same level plane. You can also pair it with other same-height front sights that share compatible geometry.
The single locking Torx screw and square integral recoil stops are what keep it planted and returning to zero. Torque the locking plate to around 35 in-lbs when you install it. Once it's snugged down properly it stays put through recoil and even survives being removed and remounted.
