The 2K11 is Kimber's answer to everyone who ever asked when they'd build a proper double-stack 1911, and this Target OI version skips the wait on optics too. A Trijicon SRO comes mounted from the factory on a C&H Precision RMR plate, so the huge window and clean 2.5 MOA dot are ready the moment you pick it up. Underneath the glass you still get a TAG FiberLok 2 red fiber optic front sight, which is a nice touch when you want a reference point during the draw.
The grip module is aluminum with Type III hardcoat anodizing, fitted with a Stan Chen Customs magwell that funnels reloads home fast. Kimber shaped the stainless steel sub-frame with a tapered magwell design that stabilizes the magazine during cycling and protects the slide stop and ejector, which pays off when you're running long strings under a timer. The 5-inch fluted stainless barrel wears a high polish with Coyote PVD, cut with 5R rifling on a 1:16 twist, and the slide carries custom front and rear serrations plus lightening cuts that give the whole gun its distinctive look. An external extractor keeps ejection consistent, and the patent-pending tool-less guide rod makes takedown simpler than most guns in this class.
The GT match grade aluminum trigger breaks between 3 and 4 pounds with the kind of crisp, short break that made the 1911 platform famous in the first place. At 42.9 ounces empty, the pistol soaks up 9mm recoil and settles the dot back on target quickly, which is exactly what you want for fast transitions in competition or steel matches. Ambidextrous thumb safeties work for lefties, and the accessory rail takes a light if you want one.

You can. The slide uses C&H Precision adapter plates, and C&H offers plates for other popular footprints like the Holosun 509T, Aimpoint ACRO, and Leupold DeltaPoint Pro. Swap the plate and you can mount just about any mainstream pistol optic.
