The 17.4 inch round blued barrel wears a 5/8×24 threaded muzzle with a screw-on protector, so adding a can or another muzzle device is as simple as it gets. Up top, a bright fiber optic front sight pairs with a fully adjustable fiber optic rear for fast, easy aiming in low light, exactly when hogs and deer tend to move. If you prefer glass, the receiver comes drilled and tapped for Henry's scope mount. The forend adds M-LOK slots on the sides and a Picatinny rail underneath for a light, laser, or bipod, plus sling studs are already in place.
Capacity is 7+1, and Henry gives you two ways to manage it. Top off through the side loading gate like a traditional lever gun, or pull the removable tube magazine to unload safely without cycling every round through the action. The oversized loop lever runs smoothly with gloves on, and the transfer bar safety means it only fires when you pull the trigger, no crossbolt button cluttering up the lines.
At 7.3 pounds and just 36.3 inches overall, this carbine carries easily in a blind, on an ATV, or through thick timber. Inside 100 yards or so, .45 Colt puts a big, heavy bullet on target with mild recoil, which makes it a solid pick for deer and hogs at woods distances, a handy ranch rifle, or simply a fun way to burn through an afternoon at the range.
