The Golden Boy Trucker's Tribute Edition takes one of the best rimfire lever guns made in America and dresses it up for the long haul crowd. The right side of the nickel plated receiver carries an engraved eastbound 18-wheeler under a 24K gold banner reading Truckers Move America, while the left side shows a westbound convoy rolling down a tree lined highway beneath a Bound for Glory banner. Both scenes were hand cut by engraver Heidi Roos of Baron Engraving, and classic truck pin striping frames the artwork. Flip the rifle over to the buttstock and you'll find a laser etched, hand painted truck stop sign in full color set into the American walnut.
Strip away the tribute treatment and this is still every bit a shooter. The 20 inch blued octagon barrel wears a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight with a brass bead up front, the kind of setup that just plain works for plinking cans or thinning out squirrels. The tubular magazine holds 16 rounds of .22 LR or 21 rounds of .22 Short, so a lazy afternoon at the range doesn't require constant reloading. Work the lever a few times and you'll understand why Golden Boys have such a loyal following. The action cycles smooth right out of the box and only gets better with rounds downrange.
At 6.75 pounds with a 38.5 inch overall length, it balances nicely and points naturally, and the receiver comes drilled and tapped if you'd rather run a scope. Some folks buy these tribute editions purely as display pieces or gifts for a driver in the family, and this one certainly earns its spot above the mantel. But it would be a shame not to shoot it, because underneath the gold and paint is the same dependable rimfire lever gun Henry has been building for decades. Either way, it's American made and a fitting nod to the people who deliver just about everything we own.
Both, really. Under the engraving and painted stock artwork, it's the same proven Golden Boy action Henry builds by the thousands, so it will run .22 LR all day at the range. That said, plenty of buyers pick these tribute editions up as gifts or wall guns, and the 24K gold plated receiver scenes make it a natural display piece.
Yes. The tubular magazine feeds .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle interchangeably, holding 16 rounds of .22 LR or 21 rounds of .22 Short. That flexibility makes it a fun, quiet plinker with Shorts and a capable small game rifle with Long Rifle loads.
You can. The receiver comes drilled and tapped from the factory, so adding a scope mount is a simple job. Most owners stick with the fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and brass bead front sights though, since they suit the rifle's traditional look and work well at rimfire distances.
