The forged A1 carry handle slick side upper gives it that classic throwback profile, while the 8 inch chrome moly vanadium barrel keeps the whole package short enough to move around with easily. The barrel is nitride treated for corrosion resistance and long service life, spun with a 1:10 twist that stabilizes common 9mm bullet weights well, and threaded 1/2-28 under the A2 style muzzle device if you want to swap on something else down the road.
The billet 7075 T6 aluminum lower is purpose built around Glock pattern 9mm magazines, which is a smart call. Those mags are everywhere, they are affordable, and odds are good you already have a stack of them in your range bag. DPMS ships this one with a Magpul 27 round Glock style magazine, so you get plenty of capacity right out of the box. The blowback operating system keeps things simple and reliable with a wide range of ammo, and the hybrid 9mm bolt carrier group features a nitride treated 8620 steel bolt with an enhanced firing pin and an external 5.56 style extractor.
DPMS did not phone in the fire control group here. The Panther Fang flat trigger wears a polished nickel boron finish and breaks noticeably cleaner than the standard mil-spec triggers you find in most pistols at this level. A knurled 4 inch Kitty Kat tube handguard covers the gas-free front end, the DPMS overmolded A1 style grip fills the hand nicely, and a CAR blade brace rides on a 6 position mil-spec carbine buffer tube.

The G9 lower is built specifically for Glock pattern 9mm magazines, and it ships with a Magpul 27 round mag in the box. That means factory Glock mags, Magpul PMAGs, and most quality aftermarket Glock style mags will run in it, from flush fit 15 rounders up to extended sticks.
Yes. The 8 inch barrel is threaded 1/2-28 under the removable A2 style muzzle device, so mounting a 9mm can is a quick swap. The blowback action and pistol length barrel make it a fun, compact suppressor host, though you may want to experiment with ammo and buffer weights to fine tune it once you add a silencer.
Simple blowback is the standard setup for 9mm AR platforms, and it is known for eating a wide range of ammo without fuss since there is no gas system to tune. The trade off is a slightly heavier bolt cycle than a gas gun, but in a 9mm it stays soft shooting and easy to control, especially with the blade brace and 8 inch barrel adding stability.
You can, though the factory Panther Fang nickel boron flat trigger is already a step above typical mil-spec and most folks leave it alone. The bolt carrier group is compatible with most aftermarket AR style fire control groups, and the mil-spec carbine buffer tube and standard grip interface mean common AR furniture swaps are on the table too.
