Browning built the CX as a true crossover, meaning it swings smooth enough for trap and sporting clays but stays lively enough to carry through a pheasant field all afternoon. The 60/40 point of impact splits the difference between a flat-shooting field gun and a high-stacking trap gun, so you get one sight picture that works across every discipline. This version wears a 32 inch lightweight profile barrel with a high post ventilated rib, ivory front bead, and mid bead, giving you a long, steady sighting plane that really shines on longer crossers and second shots at the trap line.
Under the polished blued steel receiver with gold CX accents, you get the same proven Citori action that has been breaking clays since the 1970s. The full-width tapered locking bolt and full-length hinge pin are built to soak up decades of heavy use, and the chrome-plated chambers shrug off wear and corrosion. Back-bored barrels and Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones smooth out shot patterns and take some sting out of recoil, while the Inflex 2 pad handles the rest. Browning's Triple Trigger System lets you swap trigger shoe profiles and fine-tune your finger placement, a small detail that makes a real difference over a 100-target day.
The Grade II American walnut stock carries a gloss finish with clean 18 lines-per-inch cut checkering, and it looks every bit the part of a gun you will own for a long time. Three extended Invector-Plus Midas Grade choke tubes come in the box, Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder, which covers everything from close skeet birds to long handicap targets. At 8 pounds 5 ounces with a 14 1/4 inch length of pull, it settles in nicely for a full day of shooting. If you want one over/under to cover the clays games and still earn its keep in the field, this is a hard gun to beat.

Since it uses the Invector-Plus system, there is a huge range of aftermarket tubes available if you want more options later.
It is Browning's adjustable trigger setup that lets you change the trigger shoe profile to dial in your ideal finger-on-trigger position. That kind of custom fit matters more than you might think when you are shooting a couple hundred targets in a day. The trigger itself is a crisp, gold-plated single selective trigger with a barrel selector on the tang safety.
The Citori line is built for Browning by Miroku in Japan, and it has been in continuous production since 1973. Miroku's fit and finish is well regarded, with action parts machined to tight tolerances and hand-fitted the traditional way. These guns have a reputation for digesting hundreds of thousands of rounds, which is why used Citoris hold their value so well.
