No. This specific spacer (SWMP) is designed for S&W M&P 1.0 original compact pistols and full-size 15 or 17-round M&P 1.0 magazines. X-Grip makes a different model (SWMPC2.0) for adapting M&P 2.0 magazines to the original compact frame. Make sure you're ordering the version that matches your magazine generation.
You can, though it's not necessary for function. Some users apply Gorilla Glue or similar adhesives to keep the spacer secured when the magazine is out of the gun. Keep in mind that once glued, you won't be able to use that magazine in a full-size M&P without removing the spacer. The spacer stays put fine when the magazine is installed in the frame.
