Winchester built the XPR by borrowing proven ideas from the legendary Model 70 and pairing them with modern manufacturing, so you get a genuinely capable hunting rifle without the custom-shop price tag. The 24-inch sporter contour barrel with a 1:10 twist wrings full velocity out of the .30-06 and stabilizes everything from light 150 grain deer loads up to heavy 200 grain bullets for elk and moose.
The matte black composite stock has textured grip panels that stay put in wet hands, and the Perma-Cote finish on the barrel and receiver is tough, non-reflective, and doesn't care about rain or brush.
