Like most gas-operated semi-autos, it tends to run most reliably with loads in the 1200 fps and up range. The chrome-lined barrel and chamber also hold up well to high round counts.
Yes. The receiver has a full-length Picatinny rail running along the top, and the carry handle is removable, so you can mount a red dot or other optic directly to the rail. The fiber optic front sight comes off too if you want a clean sight picture through your optic.
TriStar ships this model with two 5-round detachable box magazines. The KRX platform shares its magazine pattern with the MKA-1919 family, so spare mags and higher capacity options are out there from aftermarket makers. It is always smart to test any new magazine with your preferred load before relying on it.
