No. When folded, the trigger is captured inside the grip and the action cannot be cocked or fired. The pistol has to be fully unfolded with the handle locked open before it will function, which is a core safety feature of the design.
Slide the latch to unfold the grip until it locks open, then use the barrel release to tip the barrel up and insert one round directly into the chamber. Close the barrel, pull the bolt back to cock it, and you're ready. It takes a little practice, but most owners get the whole sequence down to just a few seconds.
