Description

The Tisas 1911DS Carry FF takes the pistol everybody already knows and loves and stretches it into the double stack world. Chambered in 9mm with an 18+1 capacity, it runs on 2011-pattern magazines and builds the whole thing on a forged 4140 carbon steel frame and slide. That old-school metal construction is a big part of why these guns shoot as flat and soft as they do, and it gives the Carry FF a planted, substantial feel that polymer guns just can't match.

What Sets the 1911DS Carry FF Apart

Up front you've got a 4.25-inch bushingless bull barrel paired with a full-length guide rod. That combo is the reason folks keep calling these Tisas double stacks surprisingly accurate right out of the box, with reviewers consistently reporting tight groups at self-defense and range distances. A green fiber optic front sight sits ahead of a serrated rear, so you get a fast, bright sight picture in good light and plenty of contrast for quick alignment.

The AOS Optic Cut Explained

The "AOS" in the name is the Agency Optic System, a modular mounting setup Tisas developed with Agency Arms. Instead of locking you into one red dot footprint, the interchangeable plate design lets the pistol wear a wide range of today's popular optics while holding proper height and repeatable zero. It ships with an AOS-to-RMR plate that includes a built-in backup iron sight, so you can mount an RMR-footprint dot and be ready to run the day it arrives.

Built for Carry and Range Duty

The reinforced polymer grip module carries 25 LPI checkering front and rear for a locked-in hold, and an integrated accessory rail up front takes lights or lasers. An ambidextrous thumb safety, beavertail grip safety, and skeletonized trigger round out the controls, making this an easy pistol to run whether you're left or right handed. It's a lot of 1911 character with modern capacity, and the value-to-performance ratio is tough to argue with.

Frequently Asked Questions

What magazines does the Tisas 1911DS Carry FF use?

It runs on 2011-pattern double stack magazines, the same style used by Staccato and Springfield Prodigy guns. Owners regularly report those aftermarket mags dropping right in and running fine, which gives you plenty of options beyond the two 18-round mags that come in the box.

Does the 1911DS Carry FF come optics ready?

Yes. It features the Agency Optic System (AOS) cut and ships with an AOS-to-RMR plate that has a built-in backup iron sight. You can mount a Trijicon RMR-footprint red dot right out of the box, and the modular plate design lets you swap to other popular optic footprints down the road.

Is the Tisas 1911DS Carry FF accurate out of the box?

The 4.25-inch bushingless bull barrel and full-length guide rod are the big reasons these guns punch above their price. Reviewers and owners consistently report tight, repeatable groups at both self-defense and range distances, and many find it plenty accurate without any upgrades at all.

What's the difference between the FF and the Comp versions?

The FF model is the standard fiber-optic-front setup with a plain bull barrel, while the Comp versions add an integrated compensator to further tame muzzle rise. The FF keeps things simpler and more carry-friendly, which is a nice fit if you don't need the extra flash and gas of a comp.
