Before it ever leaves the shop, this rifle gets the full Comanchero action package: a custom short-stroke conversion, lightened hammer and trigger pull, and a gold bead front sight paired with an adjustable rear. The short-stroke work is the big deal here. It cuts down how far the lever has to travel, which means faster follow-up shots and less wasted motion when you're moving through a stage against the clock. That kind of upgrade normally means dropping your rifle off with a gunsmith and waiting. Here it comes standard.
The 1873 action and the 45 Colt cartridge are a natural pairing, and this setup feeds the big rimmed case smoothly through a 10 round tube magazine. The 18 inch octagon barrel keeps the rifle quick to swing and easy to carry, with an overall length just under 37 inches and a weight of 7.7 pounds. That balance is right at home in cowboy action matches, and it makes a fine woods companion or plinker too. The toggle-link action, tuned up like this one is, has a smoothness that modern lever guns have a hard time matching.
