No, this Model 1854 is chambered for .45 Long Colt only. It is not a combo chamber like some single shot or revolver designs. Stick with .45 Colt ammunition and it will run happily.
The magazine tube is removable, which is one of the smartest features on this rifle. Instead of levering every cartridge through the action, you pull the inner tube and dump the rounds out the front. It makes end of day unloading faster and keeps live rounds out of the chamber.
