Inside, a Direct Metal Laser Sintered V-shaped titanium baffle stack delivers a level of baffle alignment and structural strength that traditional welded stacks have a hard time matching. SureFire's internal venting evenly distributes gases as the bullet exits, which cuts pressure impulse effects on the projectile and helps this can shoot as accurately as it sounds. First-round flash is nearly nonexistent, muzzle report drops significantly, and dust kick-up from prone positions is noticeably tamed. That last part matters more than people think when you're glassing a target through your own dirt cloud.
The patented tool-less Fast-Attach system lets you snap the Ti2 on and off in seconds over a SureFire SOCOM muzzle adapter (sold separately). The adapters use multiple bearing surfaces for a rock-solid, repeatable lockup, and SureFire's tight tolerances and bore concentricity keep point of impact shift minimal from one mounting to the next. SureFire built this one specifically for 7.62mm and .308 bolt-action rifles, which is where the titanium construction makes the most sense. Bolt guns don't generate the sustained fire rates and heat that semi-autos do, so the Ti2 keeps its weight advantage without needing heavier heat-resistant materials. If you run gas guns hard, look at SureFire's SOCOM762-RC2 instead.
