Marking cartridges like Simunition FX and UTM, short range training ammunition, frangible loads, and live rounds in controlled training environments are all fair game. That flexibility means one unit covers everything from shoot house reps to square range work, and your actual suppressor stays home instead of eating rounds it was never designed for. Keep in mind it provides zero sound reduction. It is a trainer through and through, built to replicate handling, not hush anything.
