There's a reason the Emissary line has become one of Springfield Armory's most talked-about 1911s. The heart of it is forged steel through and through, with a forged frame, forged slide, and a 5-inch match-grade stainless bull barrel with a 1:16 twist. That heavy barrel profile does more than look good under the Tri-Top slide. It puts weight up front where it tames muzzle flip, and paired with the soft-recoiling 9mm cartridge, this 40-ounce pistol stays remarkably flat through fast strings.
Developed with Agency Arms, the AOS setup uses a series of mounting plates that cover popular footprints including RMR, Shield, DeltaPoint Pro, and Docter. What makes it smarter than the average plate system is that each plate carries its own integral rear sight, so your U-notch rear sits at the correct height for a usable co-witness with most optics. Prefer irons for now? The tritium and luminescent front sight pairs with the Tactical Rack rear for quick pickup in any lighting, day or night.
Springfield didn't stop at the optics cut. The Tri-Top slide wears 40 LPI flat-top serrations to knock down glare along the sighting plane, the trigger is a solid-body flat-faced design with a clean break, and the skeletonized hammer keeps lock times fast. Thin-Line G10 grips from VZ Grips keep the grip trim and grippy without hot spots, the squared trigger guard wears grenade-pattern checkering, and the full-length Picatinny rail is ready for your light or laser. Two 9-round magazines with base pads come in the box, so you can get straight to work at the range. Whether it rides in a nightstand safe or earns its keep as a range regular, this is a 1911 built to run.
The Agency Optic System uses interchangeable mounting plates that support the most common micro red dot footprints, including Trijicon RMR, Shield RMSc, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and Docter patterns. Each plate has an integral rear sight machined at the proper height, so you keep a visible co-witness with your irons in nearly every configuration.

Between the 40-ounce all-steel build, the heavy-profile bull barrel putting weight at the muzzle, and the naturally softer 9mm cartridge, this pistol shoots noticeably flatter than a .45 government model.
