SIG took everything people loved about the P226 XFIVE Legion and worked it into a full-size pistol you can run every weekend without babying it. The P226X Legion SAO pairs an all-metal frame and slide with the refined X-Series treatment: an undercut trigger guard for a higher grip, aggressive slide serrations, a 1913 rail up front, and those signature Legion Gray Cerakote and G10 grip panels that make this line so easy to spot at the range. This configuration ships with three 10-round steel magazines, so you get plenty of mag changes in a range session right out of the box.
The single action only AX1 trigger comes flat-faced with a user-adjustable overtravel stop, and it breaks clean in the range most folks expect from a tuned competition gun. Pair that with the 4.4 inch match-grade bull barrel and its 35 degree reverse target crown, and this pistol rewards good fundamentals with tight, repeatable groups. Being SAO, it also carries a frame-mounted manual safety, which 1911 fans will find right at home under the thumb.
The slide accepts SIG-LOC Pro, ROMEO1Pro, ROMEO2, DeltaPoint Pro, and RMR footprints without adapter plates, so mounting your preferred red dot is straightforward. Prefer irons? The included XRAY3 day/night sights give you a bright front dot in daylight and tritium glow after dark. The P226X is also compatible with XFIVE slides, controls, grips, and trigger parts, which opens up a deep well of customization down the road.
At roughly 35 ounces, this is a full-size hammer gun that soaks up 9mm recoil and stays flat through fast strings. It is a hammer-fired pistol running in single action only. The flat-faced AX1 trigger is adjustable for overtravel and breaks light and crisp, and because it is SAO the pistol includes a frame-mounted manual safety much like a 1911.
The optic-ready slide directly accepts the SIG-LOC Pro, ROMEO1Pro, ROMEO2, DeltaPoint Pro, and RMR footprints, so no adapter plates are needed for most popular pistol optics. If you skip the dot, the included XRAY3 day/night sights are excellent irons with a bright green front ring and tritium inserts.
The P226X borrows heavily from the P226 XFIVE Legion, adding an X-Series frame with an undercut trigger guard, enhanced slide serrations, a match-grade bull barrel with a target crown, and the adjustable AX1 trigger system. It is also compatible with XFIVE slides, controls, grips, and trigger parts, giving it far more upgrade potential than the classic P226 Legion.
This configuration ships with three 10-round steel magazines from the factory. SIG also builds the P226X Legion in a version supplied with flush-fit 18-round magazines, so make sure you are ordering the setup you want.
