The original German-built P226 X-Five earned a reputation as one of the finest target pistols ever made, and plenty of us figured we'd never see it again. Then SIG Custom Works brought it back. The P226 X-Five Classic takes the proven P226 platform and rebuilds it into a single action only precision machine with a 5 inch bull barrel and a stainless steel frame and slide. All that steel puts the weight at 45.6 ounces, which soaks up 9mm recoil beautifully and keeps the sights settled through fast strings of fire.
The AX3 trigger is where this pistol separates itself from just about everything else on the shelf. Pull weight and over-travel are both adjustable, and the removable trigger shoe adjusts for length of pull, so you can set the break, the reset, and the reach to fit your hand and your shooting style. Pair that with the extended beavertail, undercut trigger guard, and genuine Hogue cocobolo wood grips, and you get a pistol that locks into your grip and rewards good fundamentals.
Out of the box you get a fiber optic front sight matched with a Dawson-style fully adjustable rear. When you're ready to run a red dot, that rear sight plate comes off and the slide direct-mounts a ROMEO1PRO, ROMEO2, or any optic on the standard PRO footprint, no adapter plates in the way. The alloy magwell funnels reloads home in a hurry, and SIG includes three 20-round steel magazines with alloy base pads so a full practice session or match stage never leaves you short. There's also a 1913 rail up front and an oversized gas pedal style takedown lever.

Yes. The adjustable Dawson-style rear sight plate removes so you can direct-mount a ROMEO1PRO, ROMEO2, or any optic that uses the standard PRO footprint. No adapter plate is needed, which keeps the optic sitting low on the slide. If you prefer irons, the fiber optic front and fully adjustable rear are excellent right out of the box.
It's a fully adjustable single action trigger, which is rare on a factory production pistol.
