This is a full-size, hammer-fired, single action only 9mm with a stainless steel frame and slide, a 5 inch bull barrel, and enough weight (45.6 ounces) to make recoil feel like a polite suggestion. The adjustable AX3 trigger system is the heart of this gun. You can tune pull weight and over-travel, and the removable trigger shoe adjusts for length of pull, so the break lands right where your finger wants it. Very few factory pistols let you dial in a trigger this thoroughly without a trip to a gunsmith. Up top, the slide wears front and rear serrations, a green fiber optic front sight, and a Dawson-style adjustable rear. When you are ready to run a red dot, the rear sight plate comes off to direct-mount a ROMEO1PRO, ROMEO2, or any optic on the standard PRO footprint. No adapter plates stacking up tolerance issues.

Yes. The X-Series slide has a removable Dawson-style rear sight plate that comes off so you can direct-mount an optic. It accepts the Sig ROMEO1PRO, ROMEO2, or any other red dot built on the standard PRO footprint, with no adapter plate needed.
The AX3 system lets you adjust pull weight and over-travel, and the trigger shoe itself is removable and adjustable for length of pull. That means you can fine-tune where the trigger sits under your finger and how it breaks, which is a big part of why this pistol shoots so well out of the box.
This model, part number 226X5-9-CLASSIC-10, ships with three 10-round steel magazines fitted with alloy base pads. It is the same pistol as the standard X-Five Classic, just supplied with 10-round mags instead of 20-rounders.
It is single action only. Unlike the traditional DA/SA P226, the X-Five uses a hammer-fired SAO design with an ambidextrous thumb safety, which is what allows for such a light, crisp, tunable trigger. It is built primarily as a target and competition pistol rather than a duty gun.
