The P226 platform has spent decades earning its reputation with military units, law enforcement agencies, and serious civilian shooters. The P226-X Legion takes everything that made it iconic and layers on a significant set of performance upgrades that make it feel like a completely different gun to shoot. This is a full-size all-metal pistol chambered in 9mm, built around a 4.4" match-grade bull barrel with a 35/35-degree reverse target crown that contributes to flat, consistent recoil and tighter groupings at distance. The AX2 adjustable DA/SA trigger is two-way adjustable for both pretravel and overtravel, so you can actually dial it in to your specific grip and shooting style. Single-action pull comes in around the 3-4 lb range, and the double-action pull has been refined down from the heavier traditional P226 pull to something noticeably more manageable.
SIG built the X-Series frame with an undercut trigger guard, a contoured beavertail that promotes a higher, more consistent grip, and more aggressive front strap checkering than you'd find on a standard P226. The G10 grip panels with the Legion medallion add purchase without being overly sharp, and the Legion Gray Cerakote finish on both the alloy frame and stainless steel slide gives it excellent wear and corrosion resistance. Front and rear cocking serrations are both present on the X-Series slide, which makes press checks and manipulation in any condition more reliable. The M1913 accessory rail means lights and lasers mount cleanly.
The slide comes optic-ready for the SIG-LOC Pro footprint, which accommodates popular optics including the ROMEO1Pro, ROMEO2, DeltaPoint Pro, and RMR without needing adapter plates. XRAY3 day/night sights are installed from the factory so you're covered iron-only right out of the box, with a tritium-lit front and a night-bright green ring that picks up fast in low light. If and when you mount an optic, the SIG-LOC interface offers a more secure direct-mount lockup than stacked adapter solutions.
