Rost Martin launched the RM1C in 2024 out of Dallas, Texas, and it made an immediate impression in a crowded compact 9mm market. The Comp version takes that foundation and adds an integral compensator machined into the barrel with a matching vent cut in the slide, a design that actively redirects gases upward to fight muzzle rise. Real-world range testing from multiple independent reviewers found the comp reduces muzzle flip by a significant margin compared to standard 4-inch striker-fired pistols, making the gun noticeably flatter and faster to shoot. Importantly, the compensator is built to the same overall length as the standard RM1C barrel, so it fits existing RM1C holsters without any fitment issues.
The RM1C Comp ships with a hammer-forged, match-grade 4-inch barrel treated with a Tenifer nitrocarburized finish for corrosion resistance. The slide shares the same treatment and features both front and rear cocking serrations, plus anti-glare serrations across the top to keep your sight picture clean in bright conditions. A loaded chamber indicator sits on top of the slide, and a striker-cocked indicator is built into the end plate at the rear. Sights are a white dot front and a serrated black rear notch, both using a dovetail compatible with Springfield XD-series sights, which opens up a solid aftermarket. The slide is cut for optics from the factory and ships with a metal RMR mounting plate installed. Additional plates for other popular red dot footprints are available through Rost Martin directly.
The grip is where Rost Martin has put in a lot of thought. Their Responsive Grip Texturing (RGT) is a proprietary graduated laser stippling that firms up as you grip harder, giving you a secure hold without the cheese-grater feel that turns some people off aggressive texture. Textured index points, often called gas pedals, sit on both sides of the frame above the trigger guard to help guide your thumbs into a consistent, high grip. The undercut trigger guard and extended beavertail work together to push your hand up closer to the bore axis, which helps manage recoil. The RM1C also ships with modular backstraps so you can dial in the grip fit for your hand size. Controls are fully ambidextrous, with a mirrored slide catch and push-button magazine release on both sides of the frame, a feature that's genuinely rare at this price point. The funneled magazine well makes reloads easier under pressure, and both included magazines feature witness holes and a scalloped base pad to strip them out if needed. The three-slot Picatinny rail up front handles any standard pistol light or laser without trouble.

The integral compensator is built to the same overall length as the standard RM1C barrel, so any holster made for the standard RM1C will fit the Comp version without modification. Several major holster makers including ANR Design, Blackpoint Tactical, CrossBreed, DeSantis, and We The People produce fits for this platform.
The compensator uses a matched vent cut in both the barrel and slide to redirect propellant gases upward at the moment of firing. The optic cut is machined directly into the slide, not a removable plate system on the slide itself, so you get a lower, more stable optic mount.
Rost Martin includes one 15-round flush-fit magazine and one 17-round extended magazine with the pistol. Both are steel-body mags made by Mec-Gar and branded with the RM logo. Rost Martin has also confirmed that standard CZ P10C magazines are compatible with the RM1C, which gives you a wide selection of aftermarket options. Extra factory RM1C mags are available at a very reasonable price directly from Rost Martin.
Dimensionally, the RM1C Comp falls right in line with Glock 19-sized pistols at 7.1 inches long, 5 inches tall, and 1.1 inches wide, but at 21.1 ounces it's on the lighter end of that class. What sets it apart is the factory-integrated compensator, fully ambidextrous controls, modular backstraps, and optic-ready slide all at a price point well below many competitors that offer just one or two of those features.
