Description

There is a lot to like about a .300 Blackout carbine done right, and the POF Minuteman checks the boxes that matter. The 13.75-inch barrel is machined from 4150 CrMoV steel with a black nitride treatment inside and out, cut with a 1:7 twist and 5R rifling that handles everything from light supersonic loads to heavy subsonics. POF pins and welds a Dead Air KeyMo muzzle brake to the muzzle, bringing the barrel to 16.1 inches overall. That KeyMo mount is a big deal if you run a suppressor, since Dead Air cans thread right on without any extra hardware.

Built Like a POF, Not a Parts-Bin Rifle

Both the upper and the P-15 lower are machined from billet aluminum, and the whole rifle wears a clean Tungsten Cerakote finish that looks good and shrugs off weather and handling wear. The bolt carrier group is mil-spec with POF's roller cam pin, which smooths out the carrier's travel and cuts down on wear inside the upper. A pistol-length gas system with a low-profile nitrided gas block keeps the gun running consistently with the shorter Blackout-friendly barrel, and the 13-inch Renegade rail with heat sink barrel nut gives you a slim, free-floated handguard with plenty of real estate for lights and accessories.

Minuteman Controls and Trigger

The trigger is where this rifle separates itself from the pack. POF's single-stage straight drop-in trigger breaks at a smooth 3.5 pounds, which is a genuine upgrade over the gritty mil-spec triggers most factory carbines ship with. You also get an ambidextrous safety, the ambi Strike Eagle charging handle, an oversized trigger guard for gloved hands, and a QD sling mount built into the end plate. Mission First Tactical handles the furniture with the Minimalist stock and Engage V2 grip, keeping the overall package light and quick to the shoulder.

Mount an optic, load up the included 30-round magazine, and this thing is ready for hogs, home defense duty, or a fun day of shooting suppressed. For anyone building around the .300 Blackout cartridge, the Minuteman is a hard rifle to beat straight out of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the POF Minuteman 300 Blackout suppressor ready?

Yes, and better than most. The muzzle brake is a Dead Air KeyMo, which means any Dead Air suppressor with a KeyMo mount attaches directly to the rifle with no extra adapters. The 1:7 twist barrel also stabilizes heavy subsonic loads well, so it pairs nicely with a can.

Why is the barrel 13.75 inches instead of 16?

POF pins and welds the Dead Air KeyMo brake to the 13.75-inch barrel, which brings the total barrel length to 16.1 inches. You get the handier balance and quicker handling of a shorter barrel while keeping a standard rifle configuration. Since .300 Blackout was designed to burn its powder in short barrels, you lose very little velocity compared to a longer tube.

What kind of trigger comes in the Minuteman?

It ships with POF's single-stage straight drop-in trigger set at a smooth 3.5-pound pull. That is a legitimate match-style trigger from the factory, not the heavy, gritty mil-spec unit most AR carbines come with. Most owners find it needs no upgrading at all.

Does the POF Minuteman have ambidextrous controls?

It comes with an ambidextrous safety selector and the ambidextrous Strike Eagle charging handle, so left-handed users are well covered on the two controls that matter most. There is also a QD sling socket built into the receiver end plate that works from either side.
