The Daniel Defense Omega Rail 7.0 M-LOK is one of the easier ways to ditch your factory polymer handguard without dragging your rifle to a gunsmith. It's a two-piece drop-in design, which means you don't have to remove the front sight base or muzzle device to install it. You just wrap the two halves around your existing setup, snug them together at the front with the provided Allen wrench, and you're done. Despite the split body, it still free floats the barrel instead of clamping to it, so you get the accuracy and consistency benefits of a true free float rail in a package that goes on like a standard replacement.
At roughly 7 inches, this is the lightest option in the Omega Rail lineup and it's sized specifically for AR-15s running carbine-length gas systems. The body is CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminum and wears a Type III hard coat anodized finish, which is the same mil-spec treatment you'd expect on a rail meant to take a beating. The upper rail runs uninterrupted, so your iron sights or optics stay lined up front to back, and the M-LOK slots around the rest of the rail give you plenty of room to mount lights, foregrips, hand stops, and bipods wherever your hands and gear want them.
