There are small revolvers, and then there is the North American Arms Mini. This one holds five rounds of .22 Magnum in a stainless steel frame that measures under five inches end to end and weighs right around 5.9 ounces. That is lighter than most pocket knives people carry every day. The 1-1/8 inch barrel and bird's head grip profile mean it disappears into a pocket, a jacket, or just about anywhere else you can think to stash it, which is exactly the point. NAA has been building these little single actions in Utah for decades, and the fit and finish on them gets compared to watchmaking more often than gunsmithing.
This particular version is a Lipsey's exclusive dressed up with black pearlite grips, which give it a darker, classier look than the standard rosewood panels. The rest is proven NAA design: single action operation, a fixed half-moon front sight, and a full stainless build that shrugs off sweat and pocket lint. The .22 Magnum chambering gives you real velocity out of a short barrel, and it also runs .22 Magnum shotshells if you keep one around the barn or garden for snakes and pests.
One of the smartest features on these guns is the safety notch cylinder. Between each chamber there is a half-way notch machined into the cylinder, so the hammer can rest securely without sitting on a live round. That means you can load all five chambers and carry with confidence, something older single actions never allowed. Loading and unloading is done by removing the cylinder pin and cylinder, a simple process once you have run through it a couple times.

Yes. The cylinder has half-way safety notches machined between the chambers, so the hammer rests securely in a notch rather than on a live round. This lets you load all five chambers without worrying about an accidental discharge from a drop or bump. Just make sure the hammer is seated in the notch, not resting on a cartridge rim.
Not out of the box. This model ships with a .22 Magnum cylinder only, and .22 LR should never be fired through a magnum cylinder since the case dimensions differ. NAA does sell a .22 LR conversion cylinder separately that swaps in for cheaper practice sessions, which is a popular add-on for these little guns.
These minis load the old-fashioned way. You remove the cylinder pin, pull the cylinder out of the frame, load your five rounds, then reinstall it. It sounds fiddly but becomes second nature quickly, and the design keeps the gun simple, sturdy, and remarkably small.
Mechanically it is the same trusted 1-1/8 inch barrel .22 Magnum mini, but this is a Lipsey's exclusive fitted with black pearlite grips instead of the usual rosewood. The dark pearl look pairs nicely with the stainless finish and gives it a bit of vintage character. Everything else, from the stainless construction to the safety cylinder, is classic NAA.
