The result is 6.5 Creedmoor performance in a package that weighs around 5.6 pounds and handles more like a big pistol than a chopped rifle, because that's exactly what it was designed to be from the start.
The clever part is the bolt setup. Savage put the handle on the left side while keeping right-side ejection, so a right-handed shooter can run the bolt with the support hand without ever breaking their grip. Off a bipod or tripod, that makes follow-up shots noticeably quicker. The spiral fluted bolt looks sharp too. Up front you get a 7 inch free-floating M-LOK forend with a sling stud for a bipod, and the muzzle wears 5/8-24 threads ready for a suppressor or brake. Feeding comes from a 10-round AICS-style detachable box magazine with an easy paddle release ahead of the trigger guard, and the grip is compatible with most AR-15 style pistol grips if you want to swap it.
The user-adjustable AccuTrigger breaks clean and lets you dial the pull to your liking, and the blueprinted action shows in the groups. Published testing has this platform printing right around 1 MOA at 50 yards with good ammo, which is plenty for hog hunts, blind sits, or ringing steel way past where most handguns give up.
