The Ruger 10/22 is one of the best rimfires ever made, but the factory stock is where most of them fall short. MDT built the Field Stock to fix exactly that. It takes your existing 10/22 action and drops it into a rigid chassis with aluminum V-block bedding and a free-floating barrel, which is the setup that tightens groups and keeps your shots landing where you're aiming instead of wandering with a flexy factory forend.
The body is an injection-molded polymer over a 6061 aluminum core, so it stays stiff where it counts but keeps the warm, comfortable feel of a traditional stock in cold weather. The buttstock has a toolless adjustable cheek riser and comes with length of pull spacers, so you can dial in a consistent cheek weld and get behind the scope the same way every time. That repeatable head position is a big part of finding targets faster and shooting more consistently.
The forend runs M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions with a flat bottom that plays nicely with bipods, ARCA rails, and bag work. Sling swivel studs are included on both ends for a quick sling setup on longer hikes. This is where the Field Stock earns its keep for hunters, NRL22 competitors, and anyone stretching a 10/22 out at the range, since you can tune the balance and add exactly what you need.
Installation is straightforward and doesn't require gunsmithing. You pull the action out of the factory stock, seat it into the chassis, and tighten it down. The 10/22 version feeds your standard Ruger rotary magazines out of the box, so there's no scramble to source new mags before your first range trip. Specs come in around 3.1 pounds, 32.22 inches overall, with an 11.87-inch forend, giving you a solid, purpose-built platform without turning your plinker into a boat anchor.
Yes. The 10/22 version of the Field Stock is designed around standard Ruger rotary magazines like the BX-1 and BX-25, so your existing mags feed right out of the box. That's a nice difference from the bolt-action Field Stock models, which convert those rifles over to AICS-pattern magazines.
Not at all. You remove your 10/22 action from the factory stock, seat it into the chassis, and tighten the action screw, which usually takes just a few minutes with an Allen wrench. There's no bedding, drilling, or gunsmithing involved, and the V-block bedding does the alignment work for you.
It gives your rifle a much more stable, rigid platform than a factory polymer stock, thanks to the aluminum V-block bedding and free-floating barrel.
