The Luth-AR MBA-4 Skullaton is a slick, skeletonized carbine buttstock built to replace whatever plain-jane stock came on your AR-15. It slides onto a standard 6-position buffer tube and gives your rifle a modern, aggressive profile without the bulk. Molded from super strong glass-filled nylon, it holds up to hard use while keeping the weight down to about 9.5 ounces, so you get the tacticool look without dragging your build down.
This is the stripped-down member of Luth-AR's MBA family, essentially the MBA-3 without the 3-axis buttplate or adjustable cheek rise. That keeps it light and keeps the price friendly while still delivering the stuff that matters. There's a Picatinny rail on the bottom rear of the stock body that's perfect for clamping on a rear monopod, plus multiple sling attachment points including molded pockets that accept Grovtec-style QD cups. An anti-rattle set screw on the left side lets you snug it up against a mil-spec tube so you're not fighting stock slop when you shoulder the rifle.
The MBA-4 adapts to both Commercial and Mil-Spec carbine buffer tubes, and it works on AR-15 platforms as well as most .308 AR-style rifles. Folks have run it on everything from AR-10 SPR builds to VR80 shotguns and come away happy with the cheek weld and how quick it is to adjust length of pull and lock into place. Installation is about as easy as it gets: line up the notch on the lock pin with the tab on the stock body, retract the pin, and slide it home.
One of the best parts is that this stock is fully modular. If you decide down the road that you want the added functionality of the MBA-3, you can add a cheek riser and butt plate assembly to bump up cheek height and length of pull. Start simple and lightweight now, upgrade later without buying a whole new stock. Do keep in mind it's built for standard calibers and isn't intended for large-bore magnums like .338 Lapua or .50 BMG.
It's designed for a standard 6-position carbine buffer tube and works with both Mil-Spec and Commercial diameters. The anti-rattle set screw helps take up the slack on the smaller Mil-Spec tubes for a tighter fit. Note that certain aftermarket commercial tubes that exceed 1.1172 inches in diameter may not slide on, and it is not compatible with A2 rifle-length tubes.

Not at all. You line up the notch on the lock pin with the tab on the stock body, pull the pin back, and slide it onto the buffer tube like any standard adjustable stock. From there you can dial in the anti-rattle screw with the included Allen wrench for a snug, wobble-free fit.
