Citadel builds on that foundation with the stuff today's shooters expect: a free-floated aluminum M-LOK forend in place of the usual wood, a Picatinny rail up top for a red dot or scout scope, and an 18 inch blued barrel threaded .578×28 so you can spin on a brake or suppressor. Shooting .45 Long Colt through a can on a lever gun is about as pleasant as range time gets.
The oversized loop lever is easy to run with gloves on and gives the rifle that unmistakable look, while the fixed black synthetic stock shrugs off weather and rough handling better than walnut ever will. It uses a traditional side loading gate on the receiver, so you feed rounds directly into the 8-round magazine tube one at a time. That also means you can top off the magazine whenever you like without running the gun dry. It's the same proven system the Model 92 platform has used for generations.
