Twenty-five years and over a million rifles after the first H001 shipped out of a small Brooklyn shop, Henry decided the gun that started it all deserved a proper tribute. The Classic Lever Action 25th Anniversary Edition is that tribute, and they didn't hold back. The nickel-plated receiver cover and barrel band are engraved with leafy vine scrollwork in the style of 19th century presentation rifles, with 24k gold plated accents throughout. The right side carries the Henry 25th Anniversary emblem framed in gold, while the left side shows off gold XXV numerals wrapped in a darted rope border. Production is capped at 5,000 rifles, each with its own unique serial number running from 0001HENRY25 to 5000HENRY25.
Underneath the dress-up, this is still the H001 that earned its reputation the hard way. The 18.5 inch blued steel barrel wears a hooded blade front sight and a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear, and the receiver is grooved 3/8 inch for a scope if your eyes prefer glass. The tubular magazine swallows 15 rounds of .22 LR, 17 of .22 Long, or 21 of .22 Short, so a lazy afternoon of plinking doesn't involve constant reloading. At 5.25 pounds with a 36.5 inch overall length, it handles quick and carries easy, and the action is every bit as slick as the standard model that's been winning people over for a quarter century.
The semi-fancy American walnut is the detail that seals it. Henry picked stock blanks with figuring that holds its own next to all that engraving, so no two rifles look quite alike. Some folks will tuck this one away as a collectible, and with a numbered run this small that makes sense. But it would be a shame not to run a few bricks of ammo through it, because a Henry rimfire lever gun is one of the most enjoyable rifles you can put on your shoulder. Either way, this is a piece of the Henry story you can hold in your hands, and once the 5,000 are gone, that's it.
Henry limited this run to 5,000 rifles total. Each one carries a unique anniversary serial number ranging from 0001HENRY25 to 5000HENRY25, which is a nice touch for collectors. Once the run sells through, no more will be produced.
All three. The tubular magazine feeds .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 Long Rifle interchangeably, holding 21 Shorts, 17 Longs, or 15 LR rounds. That flexibility is one of the perks of a tube-fed lever gun over a box magazine rimfire.
Yes. The receiver comes with 3/8 inch grooves cut right in, so standard 3/8 inch rimfire rings will clamp on without any drilling or gunsmithing. If you prefer irons, the adjustable semi-buckhorn rear and hooded blade front are ready to go out of the box.
No, and that's a good thing. Under the engraved nickel receiver cover and 24k gold accents, it's the same proven H001 action that Henry has built over a million of since 1997. It shoots just as well as the standard Classic, so you can enjoy it at the range without babying it.
