The KRISS Vector SDP-E is one of those guns that gets a second look from everyone at the range, and for good reason. The futuristic profile isn't just cosmetic — it's the physical result of KRISS's patented Super V Recoil Mitigation System, a closed-bolt delayed-blowback design that redirects bolt energy downward instead of straight back. Paired with what KRISS claims is the lowest bore axis of any firearm in the world, the result is noticeably reduced muzzle climb and snappy follow-up shots even in a pistol-caliber platform shooting .45 ACP.
The "Enhanced" designation in the SDP-E name comes down primarily to the included MK5M Modular Rail, a hard anodized aluminum handguard that extends well forward of the receiver. It features a full-length 12-slot Picatinny bottom rail and M-LOK attachment points at every other 45-degree position, giving you plenty of room to mount lights, lasers, or a vertical foregrip. The full-length Picatinny top rail handles optics or a red dot, and the low-profile flip sights co-witness cleanly when you want a backup option.
This particular variant comes in a durable Black Multi-Coat Cerakote finish on both the receiver and polymer grip housing, keeping things looking sharp and corrosion-resistant over the long haul. The 6.5" barrel is threaded at 9/16"-24 tpi and made from 4140 Chrome Moly steel with a Black Nitride (QPQ) finish — it's built to handle a suppressor, and .45 ACP's naturally subsonic 230-grain loads make it an especially quiet combination with a can attached. The ambidextrous safety sits right where your thumb falls naturally on the grip, with a short and deliberate throw. Glock magazine compatibility means you can run standard Glock 21 mags or the included 30-round extended magazine.
This gun ships with a 30-round magazine and includes a quick-detach sling swivel at the rear of the receiver, which makes slinging it during a range session or carrying it more practical than it might look given the overall size. Field stripping is tool-free with a four-pin takedown, and the Super V action breaks down into just two main components for cleaning — straightforward once you've done it once.
The SDP-E (Enhanced) adds the MK5M Modular Rail handguard, which extends further forward past the barrel and features a full-length 12-slot Picatinny bottom rail plus M-LOK slots at multiple positions. This gives you a lot more room to run a weapon light, laser, or vertical foregrip compared to the shorter handguard on the base SDP. For anyone planning to run accessories or a suppressor, the Enhanced model is the more practical starting point.
The Super V system uses a small bolt carrier linked to a low-mass slider that is guided by internal channels running perpendicular to the barrel. When fired, instead of the bolt cycling straight rearward, it travels back and then downward into the lower receiver. That downward movement acts as a counterweight to the barrel's natural tendency to rise, which keeps muzzle climb noticeably lower than a conventional blowback pistol-caliber design. Combined with the exceptionally low bore axis, the Vector stays flatter under rapid fire than you'd expect.
The Vector SDP-E is compatible with full-size Glock .45 ACP pattern magazines, specifically the same format as the Glock 21. The pistol ships with a 30-round extended magazine, but standard 13-round Glock 21 magazines and compatible aftermarket options will also work. This gives you flexibility for different use cases, whether you want a lower-profile setup or a maximum-capacity mag for range use.
It's one of the better setups for running a suppressor in a pistol-caliber platform. The 6.5" barrel is threaded at 9/16"-24 TPI and built from 4140 Chrome Moly steel, and .45 ACP is naturally subsonic with standard 230-grain loads, so you get a very quiet report without needing specialty subsonic ammo. The MK5M handguard also provides enough forward real estate to mount a light ahead of your grip even with a can attached.
Disassembly is straightforward once you've done it a time or two. The Vector uses a four-pin tool-free takedown, and the upper and lower separate without any tools. The Super V action itself breaks down into just two main components for cleaning and lubrication. One helpful design quirk: if you accidentally insert the bolt carrier backwards, the gun simply won't go back together, so there's a built-in check against improper reassembly.
The top of the receiver features a full-length Picatinny rail that runs the entire length of the upper, so you can mount virtually any red dot, holographic sight, or magnified optic that uses a standard Picatinny footprint. The included low-profile flip sights fold down out of the way when you mount an optic, and they co-witness through most common red dot heights when needed.
