Keystone Sporting Arms scaled down the look and feel of a modern PRS style rifle so a young shooter can learn real fundamentals on a platform that fits them, not one they have to grow into. This KSA2157 version is chambered in .22 WMR, which gives it more reach and authority than a standard .22 LR trainer, making it a legitimate little varmint rig as well as a range gun.
The heart of the package is a 16.12 inch blued bull barrel, threaded 1/2×28 and topped with a muzzle brake. The heavy profile settles nicely on the included adjustable bipod, and the flat dark earth thumbhole stock features an adjustable cheek piece plus a length of pull that adjusts from 10-3/8 to 11-7/8 inches, so the rifle can grow with the shooter. Integrated Crickettinny rails on the buttstock and forend accept Weaver or Picatinny accessories, and the included rail carries the 4×28 scope with sunshade that comes in the box. Safety-wise, the manually cocked bolt action means the rifle only fires when the shooter deliberately cocks it, and the rebounding firing pin adds another layer of protection. Trigger pull runs in the 2.5 to 3 pound range, light enough to teach proper press without being touchy.
