There's something refreshing about a rifle that does one thing and does it well. The CVA Scout TD V3 in .360 Buckhammer is a break-action single shot that comes apart into three pieces in seconds, so it rides in a backpack or behind a truck seat without complaint. At 6.5 pounds with a 20-inch fluted stainless barrel, it carries easy all day, and the .360 Buckhammer chambering hits plenty hard on whitetail and hogs inside typical woods ranges without beating up your shoulder.
CVA gave this generation of the Scout some genuinely useful upgrades. The stock now adjusts to fit you instead of the other way around, with a removable 1-inch length-of-pull spacer and interchangeable comb risers in quarter-inch and half-inch heights so you can get your eye lined up properly behind a scope. Sling studs are steel now rather than molded plastic, and the old proprietary rail gave way to a standard 0 MOA Picatinny rail that takes just about any rings or optic mount you already own. The barrel wears a radial muzzle brake from the factory on 5/8×24 threads, so if you'd rather run a suppressor, it spins right off and your can goes right on.
The stainless barrel and black synthetic stock shrug off rain, snow, and the general abuse a hunting rifle picks up over a season. A 1:12 twist stabilizes the common .360 Buckhammer factory loads well, and the reversible hammer spur plus ambidextrous stock design mean left-handed hunters aren't an afterthought here. There are no iron sights on this one, so plan on mounting a scope or red dot before opening day.

Yes. The 20-inch barrel is threaded 5/8×24 and ships with a radial muzzle brake installed. Remove the brake and most .36 caliber suppressors with a 5/8×24 mount will thread straight on. That thread pitch is one of the most common out there, so accessory options are wide open.
No iron sights or optic are included on this model. Instead, it has a 0 MOA Picatinny rail on the receiver, so you can mount a scope or red dot with standard rings or a one-piece mount. Plan to add glass before you take it to the field.
The Scout TD separates into components in seconds without tools, which makes it easy to stash in a pack, a short case, or behind a truck seat. Reassembly is just as quick, and the break-action design keeps everything simple. It's a big plus for hunters hiking into remote spots or anyone short on storage space.
It's one of the better options for both. The hammer spur is reversible and the stock has an ambidextrous design, so lefties can run it comfortably. The stock also has a removable 1-inch length-of-pull spacer and two included comb risers, which lets you size it down for a youth hunter and adjust it back up as they grow.
