There is something about a stainless lever gun in .357 that just makes sense. The Heritage 92 Ranch Hand takes the proven Model 92 action, wraps it in polished stainless steel, and pairs it with warm hardwood furniture for a carbine that looks like it walked out of a western but holds up like modern hardware. The 18 inch round barrel keeps it quick between the shoulder and the saddle scabbard, and the oversized loop lever adds a little flair while making it easier to run with gloves on.
Chambered for .357 Magnum, the Ranch Hand also cycles .38 Special +P, which is half the charm of a pistol-caliber lever gun. Load up soft-shooting .38s for cheap, relaxed afternoons plinking steel, then stoke the 8-round tube magazine with full-power magnums when you want real thump. Out of an 18 inch barrel, .357 picks up a serious velocity boost over a revolver, giving you a legitimate short-range hog and deer cartridge in a rifle that weighs next to nothing on a walk.
The drift-adjustable front sight and adjustable buckhorn rear are traditional and effective, easy to dial in for your preferred load. The 1:30 twist stainless barrel stabilizes the typical 125 to 158 grain bullets this caliber lives on, and the polished finish means sweat, rain, and truck-cab life are far less of a worry than with a blued gun. A thumb safety rounds out the controls without cluttering up the classic lines.
The Model 92 pattern has been trusted for well over a century because it is slick, simple, and strong, and Heritage builds this one to the same standard as the rest of their 92 line. Whether it rides behind the seat of the ranch truck, backs up a .357 revolver with shared ammo, or just puts grins on faces at the range, the Ranch Hand is one of those guns that gets picked up first every time the safe opens.
Yes. It is chambered for .357 Magnum and is rated to run .38 Special +P through the same action. Many owners practice with affordable .38s and keep magnums on hand for hunting or heavier work, which makes this a very economical rifle to feed.
They are. The front sight is drift adjustable for windage and the rear is a traditional adjustable buckhorn, so you can zero it for whatever load you settle on. The rear notch design is also quick to pick up for offhand shooting at practical distances.
It is built on the classic Model 92 pattern, the same slick toggle-link style action that made the original famous. Heritage produces it in modern stainless steel with hardwood furniture, so you get the traditional handling with materials that stand up better to weather and regular use.
The longer barrel adds a healthy velocity bump over a revolver, turning .357 into a capable short-range cartridge for hogs, deer at modest distances, and general farm or ranch duty. It also stays pleasant to shoot, with mild recoil and noise compared to full-size rifle rounds.
