Description

Two hundred years of Texas Ranger history deserves more than a plaque on the wall. Henry marked the bicentennial with this limited Golden Boy tribute, and the number tells the story: only 1,823 rifles were made, a nod to 1823, the year the Rangers were founded. Every one that sells sends a portion of proceeds to the Former Texas Rangers Foundation, which supports current and former Rangers and their families.

The Engraving Sets This Golden Boy Apart

The nickel-plated receiver cover is where this rifle earns its keep as a collector piece. The right side carries the famous "One Riot, One Ranger" quote on a flowing gold banner, while the left displays the Texas Rangers badge flanked by the dates 1823 and 2023, with near full coverage scrollwork filling out the rest of the flats. All of it is dressed up with plated 24kt gold highlights against the nickel finish. Down at the other end, the American walnut buttstock wears an engraving of the historical wagon wheel badge, capped with a nickel-plated buttplate. It is a lot of detail packed into one rifle, and it photographs even better in person.

Still a Real Shooter Underneath

This is no safe queen by design. Underneath the tribute treatment sits the same Golden Boy that has earned a reputation as one of the smoothest rimfire lever guns around. The 20 inch polished blued steel octagon barrel carries a 1:16 twist, the tube magazine holds 16 rounds of .22 LR or up to 21 Shorts, and you aim with a brass bead front sight paired with a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear. Henry fitted an oversized large loop lever from the factory to complete the frontier look, and the receiver is drilled and tapped if you ever want glass on it.

Why the Texas Rangers Bicentennial Edition Won't Stick Around

Limited runs from Henry have a habit of disappearing, and this one has a hard ceiling of 1,823 units. Whether it goes in the safe as a numbered piece of Ranger history or earns its stripes plinking on Saturday afternoons, this is one of those rifles people regret passing on.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many Texas Rangers Bicentennial Tribute rifles did Henry make?

Henry limited this run to exactly 1,823 rifles, a deliberate nod to 1823, the year the Texas Rangers were founded. Once the run sells out, no more will be produced. A portion of the proceeds from each sale also benefits the Former Texas Rangers Foundation.

Can the Henry Golden Boy Texas Rangers Bicentennial shoot .22 Short and .22 Long?

Yes. Like every Golden Boy, the tube magazine feeds .22 Short, .22 Long, and .22 LR interchangeably. You get 16 rounds of Long Rifle capacity or up to 21 rounds of Shorts, which makes it a flexible and inexpensive rifle to feed.

Is this rifle meant to be shot, or is it strictly a collector piece?

Both, really. Underneath the engraving and gold highlights is the same proven Golden Boy action that thousands of people shoot every weekend, with a 20 inch octagon barrel and adjustable sights that make it a genuinely accurate rimfire. That said, given the limited run of 1,823 units, plenty of buyers keep them unfired in the safe to preserve collector value. That call is yours to make.

Can I mount a scope on the Texas Rangers Bicentennial Golden Boy?

Yes, the receiver comes drilled and tapped from the factory, so it will accept a scope mount made for the Golden Boy platform. Most owners of this edition stick with the factory brass bead front and semi-buckhorn rear sights to keep the classic look intact, but the option is there if you want optics.
