Description
Griffin Armament built the Dual-Lok 5 to answer a request they kept hearing from government and professional users: a quick-detach 5.56 can with a true locking mount that doesn't wear out or wobble loose over time. The Dual-Lok system uses a tapered interface between the muzzle device and mount, with 60 machined grooves on the device and two locking positions clocked 3 degrees out of phase, giving you 120 effective lock points and a rock-solid, repeatable mount. That translates to minimal point-of-impact shift every time you take the can off and put it back on, which is the whole reason to buy a QD suppressor in the first place.
Dual-Lok 5 Construction and Materials
This is a tubeless, laser-welded design, an approach Griffin pioneered back in 2010, built from 17-4 PH stainless steel and 718 Inconel. Skipping the outer tube keeps weight down to a very manageable 11.8 ounces without giving up durability, and the whole thing is full-auto rated with no barrel length restrictions on rifle calibers. It'll handle everything in the .22 to 5.56 family and is rated up to .22-250 Rem. The high-temp Cerakote finish in Flat Dark Earth holds up to serious heat and looks right at home on an FDE build.
ECO-FLOW Baffles Keep Gas Out of Your Face
Inside, Griffin's patented ECO-FLOW baffle design does two jobs at once. It knocks down sound and flash, and it routes gas forward through the can instead of back through your receiver, so you get noticeably less blowback at your face on semi-auto and full-auto guns. Your rifle runs cleaner and more reliably, and you spend less time squinting through gas after each string. A flash-reducing end cap rounds out an already low-flash package.
Why the Dual-Lok 5.56 FDE Earns a Spot on Your Rifle
At 6.5 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter, it adds just 5.1 inches to your barrel with the included Minimalist Brake, and only 4.1 inches over longer muzzle devices. It comes with a Dual-Lok Minimalist Brake in 1/2×28 so you can mount up right away, and Griffin backs it with their lifetime warranty. Made in Watertown, Wisconsin by a veteran-owned company that has been building cans since 2005.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Dual-Lok mounting system work?
The Dual-Lok system pairs a tapered mount built into the suppressor with a matching Dual-Lok muzzle device. The muzzle device has 60 machined grooves and the mount has two locking positions offset by 3 degrees, giving 120 effective lock points for a tight, repeatable lockup. The result is a wear-free interface with minimal point-of-impact shift between mountings.
Can I shoot .22 LR through the Griffin Dual-Lok 5?
Yes, the Dual-Lok 5 covers the .22 through 5.56 caliber family and is rated all the way up to .22-250 Rem. Keep in mind it's a sealed centerfire can, so it can't be opened up for cleaning like a dedicated rimfire suppressor. Most owners run it primarily on 5.56 rifles and treat rimfire use as an occasional bonus.
Is there a minimum barrel length for the Dual-Lok 5?
No, Griffin doesn't put barrel length restrictions on Dual-Lok suppressors for rifle calibers. Shorter barrels do run hotter and harder on any can, so longer barrels will stretch the service life, but you're free to run it on a short setup. It's also full-auto rated, so hard use is well within its wheelhouse.
Does the Dual-Lok 5 help with gas blowback on AR-15s?
That's one of its strongest points. Griffin's patented ECO-FLOW baffle design directs gas forward through the suppressor instead of back into the action, which means less gas at your face and a rifle that needs less tuning to run reliably suppressed. It also cuts flash signature, helped along by the flash-reducing end cap.
