No, the suppressor ships on its own with a pouch and cleaning brush. It mounts over SureFire's Fast-Attach muzzle devices, which include flash hiders, muzzle brakes, and the WARCOMP, sold separately. Just match the device to your barrel's thread pitch, like 5/8×24 for most .308 rifles.
It handles 7.62 NATO and .308 Win on barrels 16 inches or longer, and it's a great fit for 300 Blackout and 7.62×39 platforms too. Since it's a .30 caliber bore, you can also run smaller calibers like 5.56 through it, though a dedicated 5.56 can will suppress those a bit better. It's full-auto rated, so hard use isn't a concern.
Shift is minimal and, more importantly, repeatable. SureFire test-fires every SOCOM762-MINI2 to verify sub-1 MOA groups and consistent point-of-impact shift, and the Fast-Attach system returns to the same position every time you remount it. Zero with the can on and you're set.
The MINI2 is about 2.2 inches shorter and a couple ounces lighter than the RC2, which makes a noticeable difference in rifle balance and handling. You give up a little raw sound suppression in exchange, but you keep the same construction, mounting system, and durability. It's the pick when maneuverability matters more than squeezing out every last decibel.
