Great Lakes Firearms built their reputation in Sparta, Michigan by making well-spec'd, American-made AR platforms that punch above their price point, and the GL15 pistol in Lichen Grey is a good example of what they do. This braced AR pistol runs a 7.5-inch 416R stainless steel heavy barrel with a 1:8 twist rate and 1/2×28 threading, chambered in .223 Wylde so it feeds both .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO without any pressure concerns. The receivers are billet 7075 aluminum on the lower and forged aluminum up top, paired with a 15.25-inch 6061 aluminum M-LOK handguard that gives you plenty of real estate for accessories. A mil-spec trigger and M4 feed ramp round out the functional hardware.
The finish on this pistol is one of the things that makes it stand out from the sea of flat-black AR pistols on the market. The Lichen Grey camo is a GLFA-exclusive release that gives the platform an aggressive urban camouflage look. It is applied as a Cerakote coating, which means it is not just cosmetic. Cerakote gives you real corrosion resistance and durability, and the pattern is consistent across the receiver set and handguard.
The .223 Wylde is a hybrid chamber design that sits between a standard .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO. The practical upside is that you can safely run 5.56 NATO ammo through it without worrying about overpressure, and when you run .223 Rem you typically get better accuracy than you would out of a 5.56 chamber due to the tighter freebore dimensions. It is not a cartridge, just a chamber spec, so you are still buying standard .223 or 5.56 ammunition off the shelf. For a pistol-length build where you are already giving up some velocity with the short barrel, the Wylde chamber helps you make the most of whatever you are shooting.
The GForce Arms GFAB001 Ace of Brace is a 5-position adjustable pistol brace that gives you a stable cheek weld and enough length-of-pull flexibility to get comfortable behind the optic of your choice. The upper has a full-length Picatinny rail so mounting a red dot or compact LPVO is straightforward. This bundle ships in a master carton that houses the pistol in its own retail box along with five assorted GLFA OTF knives, each featuring a 3.5-inch D2 tool steel blade and a 4.5-inch 6061 aluminum grip, individually packaged for retail sale or personal use.
The .223 Wylde chamber is designed to safely fire both standard .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition. There is no such thing as .223 Wylde ammo specifically, it is a chamber specification rather than a cartridge. You pick up your usual .223 or 5.56 rounds off the shelf and run them without any issues.
Yes. The Great Lakes GL15 pistol bundle ships with the GForce Arms GFAB001 Ace of Brace, which is a 5-position adjustable pistol brace. This lets you dial in your preferred length of pull depending on how you are shooting and what optic you have mounted.
The bundle includes five assorted GLFA-branded out-the-front style knives, each individually packaged in their own retail box. Each knife features a 3.5-inch D2 tool steel single-sided blade and a 4.5-inch 6061 aluminum grip. They are packaged this way so dealers can sell them individually or keep them as-is.
Yes. The handguard is a 15.25-inch 6061 aluminum M-LOK rail system, which gives you plenty of attachment points for lights, grips, foregrips, and other accessories. The upper receiver also features a full-length Picatinny rail on top for optics.
The Lichen Grey camo is described by GLFA as a special release finish, and this bundle is noted as a seasonal dealer offering that is not always available. If you see it in stock, it is worth grabbing since it is not a year-round catalog item.
The 7.5-inch barrel is 416R stainless steel with a 1:8 twist rate, which stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights including heavier 62-77 grain projectiles. The 1/2×28 threaded muzzle makes it suppressor or muzzle device ready. Combined with the .223 Wylde chamber, the setup is about as well-rounded as you can get in a compact AR pistol configuration.
