Grand Power has built a serious reputation out of Slovakia for precision manufacturing, and the Stribog SP9A1 is a big reason why. This PDW-configured version pairs the proven 9mm sub pistol with a factory collapsible brace assembly fitted with a Gear Head Works Tailhook, so it arrives set up and ready to run instead of leaving you hunting for an aftermarket adapter. The hard anodized aircraft-grade aluminum upper keeps weight down without giving up durability, and the dual mass bolt does noticeable work taming the direct blowback action. For a blowback 9mm, this thing is impressively soft shooting.
The 8-inch barrel comes threaded 1/2×28 with a protector installed, which makes adding a suppressor or comp about as easy as it gets. The non-reciprocating charging handle sits up front above the handguard, so nothing is cycling back at your support hand while you shoot, and it plays nicely with suppressed setups. Controls are fully ambidextrous, including the safety lever, and flip-up front and rear sights mean you can hit the range the day you pick it up. When you're ready to add glass, the full-length top Picatinny rail handles optics while M-LOK slots on the handguard take care of lights and accessories.
Grand Power ships this one right with three 30-round magazines in the box, giving you 90 rounds of capacity before you ever buy a spare. The whole package rides in an included molded hard case, so transport and storage are covered too. Between the compact footprint, the collapsible Tailhook brace, and the kind of reliability the Stribog line has become known for, this is one of the most complete 9mm PDW packages you can grab off the shelf. Whether it becomes your range toy, truck gun, or suppressor host, the SP9A1 wears all those hats well.
Yes. The 8-inch barrel comes threaded in the common 1/2×28 pattern with a thread protector installed, so most 9mm cans and muzzle devices spin right on. The non-reciprocating charging handle is also a nice bonus when running suppressed since it keeps gas and movement away from your support hand.
The factory PDW assembly combines a collapsible brace mount with a Gear Head Works Tailhook. The Tailhook uses a fold-out support arm that deploys with the push of a button and rests under your forearm to counter muzzle weight. It keeps the overall package short and adds very little length when collapsed.
No, the SP9A1 runs on Grand Power's proprietary Stribog magazines. The good news is this package includes three 30-round mags right in the box, and spares are widely available and reasonably priced. They have a solid track record for reliable feeding.
Less than you might expect. Grand Power designed the Stribog with a dual mass bolt that noticeably softens the impulse compared to a typical blowback 9mm. Combined with the weight of the aluminum upper and the stability of the Tailhook brace, it stays flat and controllable through fast strings.
