The Stribog SP9A1 wasn't designed as an afterthought AR variant — Grand Power started from scratch, building a 9mm platform specifically around the cartridge rather than adapting a rifle action to fit it. The result is a purpose-built sub-pistol with a hard-anodized aircraft-grade aluminum upper receiver and a glass-reinforced polymer lower, connected by two takedown pins in a setup that should feel familiar to anyone who has spent time with a split-receiver design. The SP9A1 uses Grand Power proprietary 30-round magazines — they are not compatible with Glock, CZ Scorpion, or other common mag patterns. Current production magazines feature curved bodies and metal-reinforced feed lips, which addressed reliability concerns seen with earlier straight-bodied versions. Three magazines come included in the box, and additional Grand Power mags are available separately.
The full-length Picatinny top rail runs the length of the upper receiver, giving you plenty of real estate for a red dot, reflex sight, or even a compact magnified optic.
