Glock's sixth generation brought the biggest ergonomic overhaul the G17 has seen in years, and this version takes it a step further with a ported 4.49 inch barrel and matching slide cuts. Porting vents gases upward as the round leaves the muzzle, which pushes the front end down and keeps your sights or dot from bouncing between shots. On a full-size 9mm that was already soft-shooting, the difference shows up fast when you start running doubles and controlled pairs. The whole gun wears a black Cerakote finish over the top for a clean, uniform look with real durability behind it.
The frame is where the Gen 6 earns its keep. A palm swell fills the hand naturally, the RTF6 texture blends two grip patterns so it locks in without chewing up your skin, and the enlarged beavertail gets your hand up high without ever slowing the slide down. There's a textured thumb rest up front for driving the gun through recoil, the trigger guard is undercut for a higher grip, and a raised border around the slide stop keeps your thumb from riding it during a string. The flat-faced trigger gives you consistent finger placement shot after shot while keeping the Safe Action system that made Glock's reputation in the first place.
Slide serrations are cut deeper front and rear than previous generations, so press checks and manipulations are positive even with sweaty hands or gloves. Capacity stays at the full 17+1, and you get three magazines in the case, which means less time loading and more time on the trigger during practice sessions.
This one makes a lot of sense for competition, home defense, or anyone who simply wants the flattest-shooting full-size Glock they can get without sending a slide off for custom work. Austrian-built, Cerakote finished, and set up to run right out of the box.
The barrel and slide have matching cuts that vent gas upward as you fire, which counters muzzle flip. The practical result is a flatter-shooting pistol with quicker sight recovery between shots. It's a popular setup for competition and fast defensive shooting drills.
Gen 6 adds a palm swell, the new RTF6 grip texture, a textured thumb rest, an enlarged beavertail, and an undercut trigger guard for a higher grip. It also comes standard with a flat-faced trigger and deeper slide serrations front and rear. It's the most significant ergonomic update Glock has made in a long time.
This package ships with three factory 17-round magazines. That gives you 51 rounds loaded and ready for a range session, plus solid rotation for defensive use. Standard Glock 17 magazines are also widely available if you want spares.
The Cerakote is a custom-applied finish over the Gen 6 pistol, giving it a uniform matte black look with excellent wear and corrosion resistance. Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating trusted across the industry for holding up to holster wear and hard use. Underneath, it's the same Austrian-built Gen 6 platform.
