Chassis kits have been around for a while, but most of them force you to give up your slide-mounted optic or stack a second dot up on a top rail. The FAB Defense AMP SL takes a different approach. The top of the chassis is completely open, so your Glock 17 or 19 drops in with its red dot and factory sights untouched and fully usable. You can even use the optic itself to rack the slide, or run the left-side charging handle built into the handguard. It is a simple idea that solves the biggest headache these kits have had for years.
The AMP SL uses a hybrid build that pairs aluminum with high-density polymer, keeping the whole package at about 25.4 ounces while staying stiff where it counts. Installation is genuinely tool-free thanks to a snap-locking mechanism, and nothing on your pistol gets modified or swapped. The handguard carries M-LOK slots down both sides for lights and accessories, plus a Picatinny rail section on the bottom for a foregrip or bipod. The whole thing comes dressed in OD Green for a look that stands apart from the usual sea of black chassis kits.
The SL model gets you FAB Defense's side-folding stabilizing brace, and the numbers tell the story: 12.8 inches folded, 21.3 inches deployed. Folded up, it stows easily in a pack or range bag. Snapped out, it gives you a much steadier platform for controlled shooting than a bare pistol ever will.
This kit ships configured for the Glock 17 and 19, but the AMP platform uses interchangeable rear adapters, so the same chassis can be set up for other popular pistols down the road with adapters sold separately. That kind of flexibility means the kit grows with your collection instead of getting shelved when you pick up something new. Pistol not included, so bring your own Glock and get to work.
Yes, and that is the standout feature of this kit. The AMP SL uses an open-top design, so slide-mounted optics and factory iron sights stay installed and fully usable. You can even rack the slide off the optic itself, or use the charging handle on the left side of the handguard.
No modifications at all. The pistol locks into the chassis with a snap-locking mechanism operated by a single button, and no tools are needed. Your Glock comes back out just as easily and stays completely stock.
This version ships set up for the Glock 17 and Glock 19. The AMP platform is built around interchangeable rear adapters, so the same chassis can be configured for a range of other popular pistols like the SIG P320, HK VP9, and CZ P10C with adapters purchased separately. A pistol is not included with the kit.
With the brace folded to the side, the chassis measures about 12.8 inches, which fits nicely in a backpack or range bag. Deployed, it extends to roughly 21.3 inches. The whole kit weighs around 25.4 ounces before you add your pistol and accessories.
