The AMP is FAB Defense's newest generation of pistol conversion chassis, and it fixes the one gripe people had with older kits like the KPOS G2: the closed top. This one runs an open upper design, so if your Glock 17 or 19 wears a slide-mounted red dot or you just want to keep using your factory sights, nothing gets in the way. This FX-AMPSL-10A1B-BP configuration comes set up for the G17 and G19 and includes the SL side-folding stabilizing brace in black.
FAB Defense builds the AMP as a hybrid of aluminum and high-density polymer, which is a smart split. You get a rigid, repeatable platform for optics and accessories without the boat-anchor weight that all-metal chassis tend to carry. The handguard runs M-LOK slots along the sides plus a Picatinny section, and the included MA3 rail segment gives you a spot for a light, laser, or a larger optic out front. Getting your pistol in and out is a single-button snap-lock affair. No tools, no gunsmithing, no permanent changes to your Glock. Press, seat, done.
Here's the part that makes the AMP a long-term buy: the rear adapter is replaceable. This kit ships fitted for the Glock 17 and 19, but FAB Defense makes adapters for a bunch of other popular pistols, so one chassis can follow you through different handguns down the road instead of collecting dust when you switch platforms.
With the SL brace deployed, a stock Glock becomes noticeably easier to stabilize, and follow-up shots tighten right up. Yes, that is one of the AMP's biggest selling points. The open-top design leaves the slide fully exposed, so slide-mounted optics and even your factory iron sights stay usable with the pistol installed. Older closed-top kits forced you to run a separate optic on the chassis, and the AMP does away with that.
No tools and no modifications needed. The AMP uses a single-button snap-lock system, so your Glock 17 or 19 drops in and locks up in a matter of seconds. It comes back out just as fast, and your pistol stays completely stock the whole time.
This configuration ships with the Glock 17/19 adapter installed, but the AMP was designed around a replaceable rear adapter system. FAB Defense offers adapters for a range of other pistols including SIG, HK, CZ, Walther, and Taurus models, so the same chassis can be reconfigured if you change handguns later. Adapters are sold separately.
