The .410 turkey gun went from novelty to serious contender once TSS loads hit the scene, and the Escort PS Turkey is built to take full advantage. This is a gas-operated semi-auto chambered for 3" shells, wearing a 24" barrel that keeps it quick to swing in a ground blind or shoulder against a tree. Recoil in a gas gun this size is about as gentle as turkey hunting gets, which makes it a great pick for younger hunters, smaller-framed folks, or anyone tired of getting thumped by a 12 gauge at first light.
The heart of this shotgun is Escort's SMART Valve piston, a self-regulating gas system that cycles light 7/8 oz loads and heavy magnum payloads without adjustment. You can even mix load weights in the same magazine and it keeps feeding. The FAST loading system is a nice touch too, letting you top off the 4+1 capacity magazine with one hand without breaking your setup on a hung-up bird. The barrel is Ni-Cr-Mo steel with a chrome-plated bore that shrugs off weather and fouling, and it accepts interchangeable chokes with three tubes in the box, including an extended turkey choke for tight patterns at the range gobblers get shot.
Up top you get a windage-adjustable red fiber optic front paired with a fully adjustable green fiber optic rear, so you can dial your point of impact to match your pattern. TSS pellets carry far more energy per pellet than lead, letting a 3" .410 shell deliver clean, ethical kills at ranges that used to be 12 gauge territory. Pair the included extended turkey choke with a quality TSS load and pattern it before season, and you'll be surprised what this little gauge can do.
