At right around 6.2 pounds with a 22 inch barrel and 42 inch overall length, this 20 gauge semi-auto is easy to tote through the timber and quick to shoulder from a seated position against a tree. The 3 inch chamber handles stout turkey loads, and Escort's gas-driven SMART Valve piston system takes the sting out of them while cycling reliably shot after shot with the 4+1 capacity on tap.
Turkey hunting is an aiming game more than a pointing game, and this gun is set up for it. You get a windage-adjustable red fiber optic front sight paired with a windage and elevation adjustable green fiber optic rear, so you can dial your point of impact to your pattern. If you'd rather run a red dot, the receiver wears a cantilevered 5 inch Weaver rail, so mounting an optic takes minutes instead of a trip to the gunsmith. Between the gas-operated action and the rubber butt pad, felt recoil is noticeably softer than a break action or pump 20 gauge shooting the same shell. Stout 3 inch turkey loads still have some push in a 6.2 pound gun, but the gas system soaks up a good chunk of it.
