The EA87 runs the industry standard HUB pattern with 1.375×24 threads, so you are not locked into one company's ecosystem. Direct thread adapters, quick detach mounts, tapered mounts from the brands you already run, they all bolt right up. That is a big deal if you plan on moving this can between a precision rig and an AR, or if your muzzle device preferences change down the road. Buy one suppressor, mount it however you like.

The Big Sixy is built around a 6mm bore, so it covers the popular 6mm family like 6 ARC, 6mm Creedmoor, 6 GT, and .243 Win. Since anything smaller than the bore passes through fine, it also handles 5.56 NATO, .223, and 22 caliber centerfire rounds. It will not pass 6.5mm or larger projectiles, so keep it off the 6.5 Creedmoor.
The EA87 uses the industry standard HUB interface with 1.375×24 internal threads. That opens the door to direct thread adapters, quick detach systems, and tapered mounts from a long list of manufacturers, so you can match the mounting setup to each rifle. It is one of the most flexible mounting standards in the suppressor world.
A 30 cal can works on a 6mm rifle, but the oversized exit aperture lets more sound escape than necessary. The Big Sixy's tighter 6mm bore closes that gap, which translates to better sound performance from the same general size of suppressor. If most of your shooting is 6mm and smaller, a dedicated bore is the smarter pick.
They are the same suppressor in different finishes. The EA87 is the black version, while the EA88 wears FDE. Performance, caliber rating, and the HUB mounting pattern are identical between the two, so it comes down to which finish matches your rifle.
