Diamondback builds the DB15 Black Gold in their own CNC facility in Cocoa, Florida, and it shows in the details. The 16-inch medium contour barrel is 4150 chrome moly with a black nitride treatment inside and out, which holds up to weather, cleans easily, and keeps its accuracy through long range sessions. The 1:8 twist stabilizes everything from lightweight 55 grain plinking ammo up to heavier match loads, so you are not locked into one type of ammunition. Feeding it all is a mid-length gas system, which spreads the recoil impulse out compared to a carbine setup and gives you a noticeably softer, smoother cycle.
The Black Gold treatment starts with forged 7075-T6 aluminum receivers, including a T-marked A3 flattop upper and Diamondback's signature Black Gold lower with an enhanced trigger guard that leaves room for gloved hands. Up front, the 15-inch M-LOK V-Rail free float handguard covers nearly the full barrel and includes anti-slip texture pads right where your support hand lands, a small touch you will appreciate on hot days or with sweaty palms. Inside, the bolt carrier group is shot-peened, magnetic particle inspected Mil-Spec 8620, the kind of quality control you want in the part doing all the work.
Instead of budget stand-ins, Diamondback went with real Magpul parts here. The CTR stock adjusts and locks solid with no rattle, and the MOE K2 grip puts your wrist at a more comfortable angle for modern shooting stances. The flattop upper ships without sights, so you have a clean slate for a red dot, LPVO, or backup irons. At 6.8 pounds with a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle wearing Diamondback's own CNC-machined device, this rifle is light enough to carry all day and easy to configure however you like.

No, this model ships without sights. The A3 flattop upper gives you a full-length Picatinny rail up top, so mounting a red dot, magnified optic, or flip-up iron sights is quick and easy. That clean-slate setup is a plus if you already know what optic you want to run.
Yes. The barrel is chambered in 5.56 NATO, which safely handles both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition. The 1:8 twist rate also stabilizes a wide range of bullet weights, so you can run cheap 55 grain range ammo or heavier loads without issue.
A mid-length gas system places the gas port farther down the barrel than a carbine-length setup, which lowers port pressure and stretches out the recoil impulse. The result is a smoother, softer-shooting rifle that is easier on internal parts over time. On a 16-inch barrel like this one, mid-length gas is widely considered the sweet spot.
It is. Diamondback fits this rifle with a real Magpul CTR collapsible stock and a Magpul MOE K2 grip, not lookalike parts. The CTR includes a friction lock to eliminate wobble, and the K2's steeper grip angle is more comfortable for squared-up shooting positions.
